The newsletter of the Alliance for Regional Cooperation
A Thousand Friends of Virginia’s Future (KFVF), a revitalized 23-year old non-profit organization, is a Charter Member of the ARC. Putting chronically-underemployed individuals in urban cores and rural tiers to work producing regionally-needed goods and services is a priority for ARC, as is aiding and promoting existing region-serving businesses.
First we will educate ourselves as to what is already produced and consumed regionally, and form co-ops and buyers-clubs dedicated to replacing imports from outside the Mid-Atlantic with production from within. KFVF will assist with this effort by identifying patterns of balanced community development that would be more sustainable than what we have now.
KFVF looks forward to working in partnership with an array of individuals, businesses and organizations on this important long-term mission.
